Champions Crowned On Day 2 Of 2017 Eastern Elite Qualifier And Regional Open Championships

Tuesday, October 17, 2017
A total of 35 champions were crowned at the Chattanooga Convention Center during the second day of the 2017 Eastern Elite Qualifier and Regional Open Championships in Chattanooga.

The female divisions, other than the elite females, finished up their run in the tournament taking the title in their respective divisions in the first session of a day. The noon session also saw action for the youth men boxing in the tournament for the first time, as well as saw our prep male divisions make it one step closer to their final matches, which will take place over the next few days.

The evening session consisted of both the junior and elite men’s divisions to close out a day that was filled with a total of over 120 bouts between both sessions. The session saw a large number of intense bouts, as the elites were looking to continue on to another day in the tournament and stay in contention to punch a ticket to the 2017 USA Boxing Elite National Championships later this year in Salt Lake City.

The 2017 Eastern Elite Qualifier and Regional Open Championships has brought over 600 boxers from across the nation hoping to take home the title. The tournament will continue tomorrow with another full day, beginning at noon and having a second session at 6:00 p.m.For a complete look at the tournament, USA Boxing is offering a free live stream that can be found here.
