Knoxville Man Arrested For Posting Threats To Kill On Thanksgiving Day

An individual who threatened in a post on his Facebook page to kill everyone in Knoxville on Thanksgiving Day was arrested earlier on Wednesday by agents with the Knoxville FBI. 

Dale Jeffries II, 43, of Knoxville, was taken into custody shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, at a business in west Knoxville.  Jeffries was charged with transmitting threatening communications in interstate commerce.

If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison. Jeffries appeared in U.S. District Court this afternoon and was held pending a detention hearing scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Members of the public are reminded that an indictment constitutes only charges and that every person is presumed innocent until his or her guilt has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Woman Says Party Guest Returned And Raped Her After She Fell Asleep

A Chattanooga woman said a party guest returned and raped her after she had fallen asleep. Richard Hymon Jr., 47, of 6961 Glen Errol Way, East Ridge, is charged with rape. Police had responded on Oct. 7 to a hospital to speak with a rape victim. The woman said she had been raped by Hymon at her home.
