BHS Alumni Association Announces 2017 Scholarship Recipients

In 2008, the Brainerd High School Alumni Association established a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to deserving graduating Brainerd High School Seniors.  

To date, they have awarded 45 scholarships for a total amount of $45,000.  

The 2017 BHSAA Scholarship recipients are:  Markia Ash; Kailia Carr; Kentrell Evan; Kenisha Price; and Reginique Siler.

"In 2015, Brainerd High School started an evening school to help improve graduation rates.   BHSAA wants to continue to provide support to evening school students who want to attend college or trade/technical school to continue their education.  Therefore, this year, we awarded our 2nd Annual BHSAA-BHS WAAY Scholarships ($500)," officials said.

The 2017 BHSAA- BHS WAAY Scholarship reciepient is Rashad Barnes.

BHS alumni who would like to make a tax-deductible donation can send a check payable to the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, Inc., place BHS Alumni Association Scholarship Fund in the memo section of the check, and remit to the address below.

Georgia Northwestern Holds Fall 2017 Commencement

Home In Alton Park Damaged By Fire Friday Morning

No injuries were reported in connection with a house fire in Alton Park Friday morning. The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm around  8:30 a.m.  and responded to 4020 Highland Ave. with five fire companies. Pedestrian Struck And Severely Injured In East Ridge Thursday Night
