Long time County Commissioner Greg Beck is seeking re-election representing Hamilton County’s 5th District.

Commissioner Beck said, "My experience and capacity to communicate with the other commissioners to promote peace and productivity, has proven to be invaluable to the commission."

He said he "has served through the commission’s most productive years in its history, and has shared with his colleagues to bring about double- digit employment opportunities for the area."

Commissioner Beck said, “We will continue the tradition of conservative stewardship of the taxpayers' money and would work to keep the transparency that has already been established, as the primary focus of this administration and commission.

"Working many years with local civic and non-profit groups gives me a vast knowledge of the pulse of government which, in many cases, has allowed me to over-ride partisan politics to serve my district. As I said before and it’s worth repeating, he added, “I have flown around the country and not once have I stopped before boarding and asked the flight attendant if the pilot was Democrat or Republican, male or female, black, white or Hispanic.  If they have the credentials, the experience and can be trusted, then I’m on board.”

Commissioner Beck said he would continue working with the Chamber of Commerce to secure more jobs for the county to develop a stronger economic climate for the area.  “A number of schools have been constructed and thousands of jobs have been created and there is more to come,” he said.

He stated, "I was one of the original nine commissioners to vote for the historical resolutions to bring VW and its associated suppliers to Hamilton County.

“I also have a history of friendship and support with the Hamilton County Department of Education and I will work to develop a stronger relationship with the new superintendent to make our two entities function smoothly for the sake of our children who hold our future in their hands.”

Concerning the goals of his new term, Commissioner Beck said, “We see on the horizon hundreds of new home construction, millions to be spent in new business developments, more schools for the fifth district, cooperation with TDOT to widen roads on Bonny Oaks and a thriving county that continues to draw hundreds of thousands of new visitors to the area for economic growth and development.

"This cannot be achieved for the district without strong and experienced leadership at the helm in District 5."
