Godless Thinking Has Taken Over

Re: Roy Exum: Our Racially-Insensitive Song

When is enough enough!  As a 75-year-old who has  proudly served my country in uniform, I am getting sick and tired of a generation of our kids who have not, but are growing up bent on destroying any reference to the good in our history.  Why?  Because we, yes we, have allowed liberal, secular, Godless thinking to take over our schools, colleges and universities.

In my formative years, education was focused on the good in our country and not always on our shortcomings.  Respect for God and country were the cornerstones of our national fabric, taught to a large degree by men and women in education that had fought in our wars to preserve "One Nation Under God". Yet over the last 60 plus years, God hating liberals have succeeded in first removing prayer from our public schools to then removing our creator from the public arena and our government. That strategy has given us a generation of some of our youth that remind me more of the brainwashed "brown shirts" of Nazi Germany that were unwittingly emptied of love, compassion and a belief in God to those filled with hate and Godlessness.  They seem to be swept up in a movement of "political correctness" that blinds them to the slow destruction of a once great country established by our forefathers with their blood and personal sacrifice.

It seems as though every time we are faced with tragedies like this week in Florida, the focus is always on every secular reason except for the lack of a God centered upbringing in our young people, for this culture of anger, disrespect for authority, immorality, lack of national pride, disrespect for life, and hopelessness that is at the root of the impending destruction of our country.

When our young people are focused on a long forgotten verse in a song of patriotism as an excuse to eliminate the rest of the good expressed in our National Anthem it will be just another example of the slow destruction of every symbol of liberty, Godliness, and pride that we once ingrained in each successive generation of Americans.

Corker Is Right About The Omnibus Spending Bill

Dear Senator Corker,  I see the point in your comments regarding the spending bill before congress. Our nation was in an overwhelming financial deficient long before 2018, and the problem has not been dealt with by any political party in "power". I quote from a partial transcript of your speech:  "You know, there are a lot of discussions about the ... (click for more)

Dressing The Wound

I seem to have plenty of Irish to go around for everybody on this panhandling issue. All sides seem to be unwilling or unable to get to the heart of the matter.  Panhandling is just one of many symptoms (outcomes) of the same condition. Chattanooga is waging a multi-front war on poor people, not an overstatement. We read a new news story going toward proving it at least ... (click for more)

Juvenile Court Judge Rob Philyaw told a federal jury on Thursday that the fact Elizabeth Gentzler is openly gay had no part in his decision not to reappoint her as a magistrate. "Absolutely not. I have a lot of gay friends, family and acquaintances," he said. However, a court officer at Juvenile Court sided with Ms. Gentzler. Jimmie Cannon said, "Ninety-nine percent ... (click for more)

Since dropping down to Class AA after the 2009 softball season, the Central Lady Pounders have owned District 6-2A competition.
