Hamilton Heights’ Tre Edwards scored a game-high 36 points, including four 3-pointers, as the Hawks defeated Legacy Charter, 81-73, on Friday night in Greenville, South Carolina.

The Hawks’ victory avenged a loss to Charter last month.

The Hawks (21-7) built a 42-29 lead in the third quarter.

However, the Lions rallied to within two points with 35 seconds left in the fourth. Legacy, which scored 30 points in the final eight minutes, began fouling and the Hawks went 8 for 8 at the free-throw line to secure the victory.

Jordan Rawls scored 12 points and was credited with seven assists for the Hawks.

Sherman Robinson led Legacy (25-5) with 24 points.

I try not to overuse the word great, but we lost a great man today, Claude Ramsey. I had the pleasure of serving under him as director of Commercial and Industrial Properties for 14 years while he was the Hamilton County Assessor of Property. He was probably the smartest person I have ever known. He was tough but patient, kind, caring and compassionate. He knew how to get ... (click for more)
