Why Do Young White Males Feel The Need To Kill? - And Response (4)

Wednesday, March 21, 2018

Over the last few years we have seen multiple instances of young, white males killing multiple innocent victims. It is a very clear spike in the demographic and it can't be merely coincidental. We always hear that it was a disenfranchised individual with deep rooted problems, after the fact, but we don't see the same with females or brown people.

When we hear that mass violence occurred, people run to their camps and await the pending news report for a Muslim or white guy verdict, upon which time the talking points du jour are established. Nothing changes. When the Muslim kills, we rationalize the irrational act by blaming religion. When the white male kills, we blame the gun, mental illness, etc... but I argue there is more to this.

If it were truly mental illness, it wouldn't discriminate based on the color of their skin (white). If it were truly the gun, it wouldn't discriminate based on the gender or age (male/millennial). It is clearly a problem with young white males.

There was an article in the New York Times recently titled, The Boys Are Not All Right, that was written shortly after the Florida shooting. It outlines how there is a clear problem with our boys and there are only two options: withdraw or rage. It also touches on the confusing area of where the male fits into a post-feminist society.

How can a male be masculine and maintain a sense of identity without being a chauvinist? How do we respond when we hear a youthful, white male is battling issues? He has white privilege and will never know what it is like to use the #metoo tag. "Shut up and sit down."

Withdraw; then rage.

We can yell at each other till we are blue in the face about the guns, the bombs, the knives or the trucks, but one thing is certain: the desire to kill innocent people can definitely be attributed to a certain demographic and I believe this is a result of how we treat the white male.

Although I am a not-so-young white male, I can recall my younger self dealing with being bullied. In one particular situation, I contemplated retribution by using my 22 caliber squirrel rifle to put that jerk out of my misery. Fortunately, I did not follow through on that plan; we later became friends, and he and I are both still alive.

I'm not saying that being bullied is the causative agent in all mass killings, but I think it could contribute to the rage that fuels such tragedies.

Label it anyway you want but it’s quite simple.

The Bible makes it clear. Just read it. No fake news in Gods Word.

"You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44

"The last enemy to be destroyed is death." 1 Corinthians 15:36

Jesus said it and I believe it. I hope all will do the same before they find themselves knelt before Him.

I must respectfully disagree with your pretext, "white males killing multiple innocent victims"; "It is a very clear spike in the demographic", and "but we don't see the same with females or brown people."

Actually very incorrect.

To that point I respectfully submit, The Ugly Truth About Mass Shooters by Stefan Molyneux published Feb. 22 on youtube. It is 01:34:42, but certainly worth a watch.

Tim, I think you hit the proverbial nail on the head with this paragraph you wrote:

"How can a male be masculine and maintain a sense of identity without being a chauvinist? How do we respond when we hear a youthful, white male is battling issues? He has white privilege and will never know what it is like to use the #metoo tag. 'Shut up and sit down.'"

White males, there's just no place for them anymore.

Re-elect Joe Graham

Early voting time is here again and our choices couldn’t be more important.  It’s an easy choice though for the voters in Hamilton County District 6.  Joe Graham is the obvious choice.  I’ve known Joe for over 40 years.  I grew up with him.  He was a few years behind me at Lookout Valley High School but even then, I could tell there was something special ... Party Problems In The 30th District House Race

Watching the 30th district house race is very interesting.  It is normal that the front runner in an election can expect some attacks.  However, the vicious attacks that Ms. Helton is facing is unprecedented in my opinion.  Both of these candidates are in the same party.  I was under the impression that party leaders were the ones that challenged a candidate’s ...
