Monument Of Booker T. Washington Unveiled On Saturday

Commissioners Greg Beck, Warren Mackey, Chester Bankston and park officials and Friends of the Booker T. Washington Park gathered Saturday at noon to witness the unveiling of a monument of Booker T. Washington. 

Commissioner Bankston, who represents District 9 in which the park is located, said, “Fund raising projects for land acquisition and other programs would be the focus for the recreational needs of the park."



CPD Cadet Community Immersion Project Presentation Will Be Thursday

Chief of Police David Roddy and the 2018-2 Cadet Class will host a Community Immersion Project presentation Thursday at 4:15 p.m. at the Camp House.  Cadets have spent over 50 hours (the equivalent of an entire college semester course) interviewing community members, compiling video, and gathering off-camera comments with community leaders and community members.  ... Cleveland Receives $25,000 Grant To Create New Dog Park

The city of Cleveland has been selected to receive a $25,000 grant for the creation of a new dog park. The grant is being funded by the Boyd Foundation as a part of the foundation’s Dog Park Dash grant program to make Tennessee the most pet-friendly state in the United States. Red Bank Approves Short Term Vacation Rental Ordinance On Final Reading

The Red Bank Commission passed an ordinance Tuesday night on second and final reading that regulates short term rentals within the city. Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm Fire On Workman Road Tuesday Morning

Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched at 6:03 a.m. on Tuesday, to a commercial fire at 400 Workman Road. When the first firefighters arrived on the scene, flames were shooting through the roof and the request was immediately made for a second alarm response.
