Bonnaroo kicked off its 17th year officially on Thursday. Though one might guess it started on Wednesday considering festival-goers were already lined up for miles on I-24 to get in the gates that night.

Featuring headliners like Muse, Eminem, and The Killers, Bonnaroo continued their tradition of treating fans to a wide array of music.

Everything from rock to rap, and EDM to country was available for fans to take in during the four-day festival on The Farm in Manchester, TN.

There were many notable acts spanning from Thursday to Sunday, including up-and-comers like Jade Bird, Billie Eilish, Larkin Poe, and many more. These intimate performances highlight the festival’s emphasis on music exposure and gave attendees countless opportunities to discover new groups and music types.

The festival features three main stages and four tents of music that run from around noon to 3:00 am. Bigger acts included Paramore (who made their Bonnaroo debut this year), Khalid, Bon Iver, Future, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Alt-J. There was even a surprise appearance by Chance the Rapper (one of last year’s headliners) playing with Knox Fortune early Saturday afternoon. Surprises are a specialty at The Farm. Cage the Elephant also played a secret set this year on the campgrounds.

But the festival isn’t just about music; it’s about radiating positivity, a Bonnaroo mantra that has held strong for over a decade and a half now. From daily yoga classes at the Solar Stage to panels on relevant social topics, Bonnaroo is a holistic festival experience. The food is also top rate; this year featured celebrity chefs, new food trucks, and staples like Nashville’s Hot Chicken. Speaking of Nashville, the iconic Grand Ole Opry is hosting its first ever show from Bonnaroo.

With over 200 events going on at the Roo, there’s never a dull moment.

Too Many Questions

First it was about 2,000, then we were told it’s up to 4,000. We have no way of knowing who’s coming or what their purpose is. NBC and CNN assure us they are seeking sanctuary but how can we know? Neither Honduras or our subjective media in America have been honest with us in the past. So, how do we know why that many people are marching across Central America? Then this morning ...
