2 Walker County Deputies Now Facing Criminal Charges In Alleged Attempted Rape

Two Walker County deputies who had been under investigation after a woman claimed they tried to sexually assault her over the weekend are now facing criminal charges.

Brandon England, 40, and Shawn Norris, 36, have been charged with aggravated assault, criminal attempt to rape, and false imprisonment.

The arrests came after an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department. 

They were booked into the Catoosa County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.

Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said, "Since their arrest this afternoon both employees have been suspended without pay.

"When the internal investigation is completed a determination will be made concerning their employment status."



Dalton Police Department Investigating Wallet Theft

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two people who used a stolen Target credit card to rack up more than $1,000 in fraudulent charges after stealing a woman’s wallet at a Dalton grocery store.
